Trevor Chambers from Imperial College London spoke to an audience at the University of Bristol about the CONSORT test reactor and its 50 year journey towards decommissioning.
The Nuclear Institute Western Branch hosted Mr Trevor Chambers, Head of Reactor Centre for the Imperial College CONSORT reactor. This facility is the last civil research reactor in the UK, and it was shutdown for the final time in December 2012. It is now in the decommissioning phase and is expected to be delicensed in 2023.

CONSORT Test Reactor
You can read more about the CONSORT reactor on the ONR website. The reactor is situated at Imperial's Silwood Park Campus near Ascot, Berkshire. It is a facility that forms part of the university's Centre for Nuclear Engineering.
