During the meeting there will be three ‘breakout’ sessions (precise titles to be confirmed):

Managing CONSERVATISM in modelling

Reducing the COMPLEXITY of arguments

Maximising CONFIDENCE in predictions


Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, Cumbria

This is a residential conference, and hotel room costs will be included in the registration fees which will be announced shortly. Delegates do NOT need to book their own accommodation, but any special requirements should be noted on the registration form. Accompanying persons are welcome.

The registration fee will also include an evening visit to The Lakeland Motor Museum followed by dinner at the Café Ambio at Holker Hall. All other meals will be taken at the Castle Green Hotel.

British Carbon Group

The British Carbon Group (joint with the IOP and SCI) is one of the RSC's many Interest Groups. The Interest Groups are member driven groups which exist to benefit RSC members, and the wider chemical science community, in line with the RSC's strategy and charter.

The Group promotes the science or technology of graphite and carbon materials. This includes diamond and fullerenes, composites, fibres, deposits and any other relevant carbon science topics in the UK. By providing a forum for scientific discussion we represent the interests of UK carbon scientists in relation to learned societies worldwide.
