This 'Introduction to Hinkley' event is essential for those Gloucestershire companies keen to find out more about potential Hinkley Point C opportunities.
Find out from EDF what opportunities await your business, and what they need from those companies who supply the largest construction site in Europe. Supported by GFirst LEP and Gloucestershire County Council and taking place at EDF's offices, this event also aims to identify Gloucestershire businesses who want to sell products and services into the Hinkley Point C build. The level of interest expressed, and from what businesses, could help shape funded and other business support offered to local SME's in the county.
The event is delivered by the Hinkley Supply Chain Programme, led by SWMAS in collaboration with Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Business West. The Hinkley Supply Chain Programme aims to provide business development support and help in finding opportunities within the HPC project for South West companies.
The Hinkley Supply Chain Programme is funded by the Heart of the South West LEP, West of England LEP and the Welsh Government to provide business assistance to South West companies with the aim of helping them find opportunities within the HPC project.
You'll hear from EDF Energy on upcoming Hinkley Point C project requirements, which include the following construction, civil, mechanical and electrical capabilities:
Construction - Civil Works, Building Trades, Material & Component Supplies, and Construction Services (including Fuel, Plant, and Waste Management)
Mechnical - Steel Fabrication, Machine Shop, Precision Components, Non Destructive Testing, and HVAC
Electrical - Electrical LV and HV Installation, Electrical Components, Control and Instrumentation
Benefit, too, from insight shared by our Somerset Chamber of Commerce partners and learn from Gloucestershire's Arc Energy Resources who have recently benefited from the Hinkley Supply Chain team's support.
What are the opportunities?
- South West companies have already won contracts worth more than £1.3 billion
- 90+ Tier 1 contractors are planning to deliver contracts each worth £100's million
- Multiple Tier 2 and 3 supply chain requirements for companies based in the South West
