South West Nuclear Hub Showcase

The South West Nuclear Hub are pleased to be hosting our first ever research and collaborations Showcase Event on Friday 7^th February 2025.

The SWNH is a growing membership network of academic and industrial partners, with a focus on advocating for and facilitating excellent nuclear research in the South West and beyond. Through collaborations, projects, policy and more, our mission is to contribute to energy security and net zero ambitions through the implementation of nuclear energy production in the UK.

We are delighted to be hosting the event in the Wills Memorial Building Great Hall & Reception Room at the University of Bristol. This will be a celebration and exploration of the breadth of work taking place within the Hub network spanning academia and industry.

There will be a regional focus to this event, and the day will be dedicated to demonstrating the ways in which the Hub is working to deliver against our strategic pillars: Research, Innovation and Skills.

This showcase will be an opportunity to:

• Understand the role and values of The South West Nuclear Hub and find out how to get involved.
• Hear from the Hub Directors.
• Learn about world class research taking place in the nuclear science and engineering space across our academic members
• Discover the technical capabilities, facilities and expertise of groups within the Hub network
• Explore the ways academia and industry can successfully collaborate to address challenges across the sector and celebrate the work taking place
• Engage with the nuclear skills gap and find out ways this is being addressed in the region

Posters

We would also like to demonstrate the research, innovation, skills, technical capabilities, projects and collaborations taking place within the South West Nuclear Hub with a poster session. We invite you to submit a poster demonstrating any of the above by February 4^th 2025. There will be a great mix of attendees to ‘showcase’ the breadth of fantastic work across the Hub and South West to. Please indicate your interest in submitting a poster at point of registration. Please submit your poster to enquiries@southwestnuclearhub.ac.uk and the Team will confirm accepted submissions on 5^th January.
