Intro to Nuclear New Build and Power Generation

Delegates will be exposed to the past, present and future of nuclear power production, through technical seminars presented by representatives from across the industry, as well as a tour of Hinkley Point C Construction Site.

Seminars will discuss a variety of key topics within the industry, including history of nuclear power production, electricity generation and the operation of the national grid.

Many of the ideas from the seminars will then be observed first hand on the tour of Hinkley Point C Construction site and the European Pressurised Reactor (EPR) Simulator

A formal dinner will provide the opportunity to network with people across the industry, including our main speaker Stuart Crooks, Managing Director of Hinkley Point C

Nuclear Institute YGN Exhibition, Networking and Speaking Competition

The Nuclear Institute Young Generation Network will host a South West Exhibition and Networking Event and the NI Annual Speaking Competition 2018

Following on from the success of the last three years, this promises to be another fantastic afternoon and evening and will be open to all (including YGN members, non-members and more senior delegates).  The event will be free to attend for both delegates and exhibitors but spaces may be limited so please register your interest early.

Attendees will be invited to arrive from around 4.00pm. There will be a welcome speech at around 4.30pm, after which attendees will be free to network over drinks and nibbles and speak to many of the companies and representatives from across the industry who will be exhibiting and distributing merchandise.  Burges Salmon will also be hosting the Western Branch round of the NI speaking competition on the same evening, which will be starting at around 6pm.  Attendees for the exhibition and networking event are very welcome to stay and watch the speaking competition - and all YGN attendees are encouraged to enter!

The event will provide an excellent opportunity for YGN members and non-members to find out more about companies working in the nuclear sector, make new contacts, catch up with old contacts, discuss opportunities for collaboration, and increase awareness of some of the career opportunities on offer within the industry.

Whilst the list of this year’s list of exhibitors cannot be finalised yet, previous exhibitors have included: NI/YGN; EDF; Jacobs; NNL; Horizon; Burges Salmon; Areva and Qinetiq.

To register your interest in attending/exhibiting or if you have any queries, please contact Katherine King.
