Through a series of panel debates and talks, this virtual event will showcase some of the University of Bristol's exciting, leading research in Engineering and Computer Science.

Faculty of Engineering Research Showcase

Book a place on the sessions of your choice to join leaders in their fields of research, and learn more about how we are responding to some of our biggest challenges and the opportunities for collaboration. Each day will demonstrate examples of our research capability in particular areas, with the final day focussing on successful academic and industry collaborations, with a panel discussion on our Prosperity Partnerships.

Lunchtime Listens: Nuclear Energy Innovation Bites

As part of this event, the South West Nuclear Hub, will showcase a selection of leading early career researchers working on innovative projects in nuclear energy. Hosted by Dr Harry Coules, Lecturer in Structural Integrity, researchers will have up to 10 minutes each to explain how they are tackling the industry's biggest challenges, from materials, robotics, manufacturing and systems engineering perspectives.
Talks will include:
  • Dr Abdullah Al Mamun - Materials research to maximise the life of nuclear power plants
  • Sam White - Robotics for nuclear decommissioning and the NNUF Hot Robotics Facility 
  • Richard Pyle - Big Data and non-destructive testing
