COP26 – The Year of Climate Action and your part in it

April 29, 2021 -6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The UK has been chosen to host the major UN climate change summit, known as COP26, in November 2021. This is a significant event for the UK and the most important climate summit since the landmark Paris Agreement was agreed at COP21 in 2015.

The Nuclear Institute Young Generation Network (YGN) and Friends of Nuclear Energy (FoNE) have come together to promote the importance of COP26 and the vital role that nuclear can play alongside other low-carbon technologies in the fight against climate change.

This event will be a panel discussion on the significance of COP26 and will cover:

  • Why every university student should be interested in COP26
  • How we can achieve Net Zero and the key challenges and opportunities facing our generation
  • Why Net Zero needs nuclear and the role of young people as climate champions

Following the discussion there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions as part of a Q&A session and find out more about how you can get involved.

Panellists:

Chair: Miguel Trenkel-Lopez, YGN COP26 Delivery Team
