Prof Tom Scott – Adventures with Robots​ in Chornobyl​

With the 40th Anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant disaster marked last month (26th April 2026), South West Nuclear Hub Director and expert in nuclear materials, field robotics and nuclear threat reduction Professor Tom Scott will be discussing the international collaborations, work and research taking place within the University of Bristol to support the decommissioning of the Chornobyl site.

Professor Scott will also be recipient of the Jubilee Commemorative Medal of the Institute for Nuclear Power Plant Safety Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl accident, awarded for his contribution to supporting Ukraine in the aftermath of the disaster.
