ATLANTIC Annual Meeting 2020

This is the 1st Annual Meeting of the ATLANTIC Consortium and is the annual showcase for our research.

About this Event

This is the 1st Annual Meeting of the ATLANTIC Consortium and will bring together academics, researchers and industrial stakeholders with an interest in accident tolerant fuels.

The meeting will take place over 2 days - Tuesday 21st & Wednesday 22nd January 2020 - and will include oral presentations from our researchers as well as invited speakers.

The meeting dinner will be held on the evening of the 21st January 2020 under the Harrier Jump Jet at IWM North.

TRANSCEND Theme Meetings – Lancaster

The TRANSCEND theme meetings will be held on 11th and 12th November 2019 at The Conference Centre, Lancaster University. We will be running two parallel sessions on each day:

Monday 11th November: Theme 1 Integrated Waste Management and  Theme 2 Site Decommissioning & Waste Management

Tuesday 12th November: Theme 3 Spent Fuels and Theme 4 Nuclear Materials

TRANSCEND (Transformative Science and Engineering for Nuclear Decommissioning) is a collaborative research consortium of 11 universities and 8 industry partners.

The £9.4million research programme comprises 40 projects which will address some of the key challenges within the areas of nuclear decommissioning and waste management.

The work of the consortium continues, rationalises and extends that previously undertaken on DISTINCTIVE (Decommissioning, Immobilisation and Storage Solutions for Nuclear Waste Inventories) with increased breadth, particularly in bringing together the academic and industrial communities to take more of a whole lifecycle approach to decommissioning and waste management.
